Overview Info
What is BenchSports.com? BenchSports.com is a sports pool hosting service. We take all the burden off of you to run a sports or office pool and allow you to concentrate on participation instead of administration. No more compiling spreadsheets, and gathering picks, and then adding up the results. You set up the league, get the participants, make your choices and we do the rest (Scoring, Standings, etc.) What Sports Does BenchSports.com Offer? Currently BenchSports.com offers NFL & NCAA Tourney pools. In 2007 we will be having a total of 12-18 different NFL pools & NCAA Football Bowl Pools. In 2008 will be expanding our NCAA Tourney pools as well as adding various NASCAR pools. My Friends & I have a pool we play that isn't on BenchSports.com, what can we do? BenchSports.com welcomes any and all suggestions be it about the website, our features or our game selections. Any new pool or suggestion will be taken under consideration and where appropriate developed for our site. Our goal is to provide the most complete sports pool site possible with a wide variety of standard and non-standard games for sports fans to choose from.
User Info Questions
How do I sign up for BenchSports.com? You can create a username and password for BenchSports.com on our Registration Page. I forgot my username, how can I retrieve it? You can retrieve your username by going to our Forgot Username Page. Just enter your email address and the username will be displayed. I forgot my password, how can I retrieve it? BenchSports.com protects the privacy of our users, therefore passwords cannot be retrieved. You can reset your password by going to our Change/Forgot Password page. Once on the page enter your email address and you will be emailed a temporary password. Once you log in with the temporary password you will be prompted to pick a new password. How to I change my username, password or personal information? Once you have successfully logged in you can change all login & personal information on our Update User Info Page.
Fees
What are the fees for using BenchSports.com to host my league? Currently BenchSports.com is a free service. We will be charging reasonable & competitive hosting fees for our leagues in the near future but the 07 NFL season will be a free service.
Game Play Info
Can BenchSports.com enter my picks for me? No, it is each player's responsibility to enter their own picks prior to the deadline. If no picks are entered at the deadline the autopick system will make your picks for you. Are my picks visible to other people? Yes & No... User picks will not be available for viewing prior to the week lock. Once the weekly deadline has passed then all picks and week related statistics will be viewable by everyone within the league.
Autopick Info
What are autopicks? Auto picks are system generated picks that happen only if someone does not manually submit their own picks. Auto picks will be initiated for all users that do not have their picks submitted at the weekly deadline. What are my autopick options? Pick'Em, Confidence, Arrogance, Über Pools Favorite - Picks the teams that are favored based off the point spread. Home Team - Picks all home teams. Random - Randomly will pick either the road team or home team. Underdog - Picks all the teams that are underdogs based off the point spread. Visiting Team - Picks all the road teams. Survivor Pools Available Team = Teams that you have not chosen yet (per your league rules). Favorite - Available team that is favored by the most points based off the point spread Random - Available random team Underdog - Available team that is an underdog by the smallest margin (closest amount to zero) based off the point spread Loser Pools Available Team = Teams that you have not chosen yet (per your league rules). Underdog - Available team that is an underdog by the most points based off the point spread Random - Available random team Favorite - Available team that is a favorite by the smallest margin (closest amount to zero) based off the point spread How does autopicks select point values for Arrogance & Confidence Pools? Point values are assigned by a random generator. How does autopicks select tie breaker values? Tie Breaker values are set for autopicks by choosing a random number between 18 & 70
Point Spread Info
What are point spreads? Point spreads indicate which team is favored to win and by how many points they are favored. A negative number means the home team is favored; a positive number means the visiting team is favored. The larger the number the more of a "favorite" a team is considered. Are point spreads used on my league? Check your league rules or check with your league admin to determine if spreads are used for your league. If spreads are used your picks are against the spread winners/losers not the game winners/losers. If spreads are not uses you pick the game winners/losers. How are the points spreads set? Point spreads are set from various sports sites. When are the points spreads set? Point Spreads should be set by Tuesday evening each week. When are the points spreads changed? Point Spreads should never change, unless of some major happenings that cause a very large shift in the spread values.
