Arrogance Pool Description

What is an Arrogance Pool?

An Arrogance Pool is a Confidence pool except for how the game is scored. In a Confidence pool for a correct pick you receive the Confidence point value and an incorrect pick you get 0 points. In our Arrogance Pool a correct pick you recieve the Arrogance point value and an incorrect pick you receive a negative Arrogance point value. It rewards correct picks and penalizes incorrect picks and allows for quick turnover in the scoring from week to week.

Points in an Arrogance pool are based off of two things.

Correctly predicting which team will win each game
The associated "Arrogance Points" for those wins

Arrogance points are set by ranking each game with a predetermined numeric value. If there are 14 games in a week the arrogance point values would be 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14. You then select a winner and choose which arrogance point value you would like to associate with the team. Arrogance values represent the points you will receive if correct and the negative value you will receive if incorrect. Each value can only be used once.

If you think the team will absolutly win you want to use a high arrogance value to receive the maximum points, if you are unsure if a team will win you would want to select a low confidence value.

If you pick the Lions for 14 points and they win you get 14 points, if you select the Raiders to win for 1 point you get one point. The winner is determined by the person that has the highest point total.

Using Game Winners
Using Spread Winners

Using Game Winners = Choosing who you think will win the game.
Using Spread Winners = Choosing who you think will cover the spread.
